EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE / FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

The right truck.
For the right job.

Understand the equipment options, then talk to our team about the best fit for your cargo.

What can a flatbed truck carry?

Flatbeds are suited to steel, lumber, building materials, machinery, and other open-deck freight. Their open layout accommodates cargo that benefits from loading access beyond a conventional enclosed trailer. Share dimensions, weight, and loading arrangements so the right equipment can be selected.

When should I choose a stepdeck instead of a flatbed?

A stepdeck has a raised front section and a lower main deck. The lower deck provides more vertical cargo clearance for taller equipment. The available loading space and overall loaded height still need to be checked against the specific trailer and route.

When does an oversized load require a permit?

In Ontario, an oversize/overweight permit is required when the combined vehicle and load exceed the applicable legal size or weight limits. Eligibility, route restrictions, and permit conditions depend on the shipment. Provide accurate loaded dimensions and weight so the requirements for each jurisdiction on the route can be reviewed.

What is a power-only move?

Power-only trucking supplies the tractor to pull a trailer provided separately, rather than supplying a complete tractor-and-trailer combination. It can suit shippers with their own trailers. Trailer compatibility, condition, route, and responsibilities must be confirmed before dispatch.
